UPDATE: Though now modified, Fast Company initially published a supposed release date for Angry Birds Star Wars, which was on October 28th, here is the article, apparently Rovio plans to get the game available a bit later, which makes sense. They will also have an exclusive first look to the game. Also, a whole new line of Toys will accompany this franchise.
Rovio has just hinted a link through Angry Birds’ Facebook page that doesn’t simply goes to their brand new Tumblr site, but also unveils some HUGE news.
Yes, as you can see above, and judging from the official statement in Tumblr, an Angry Birds Star Wars game is on the way. The official announcement will be made on october 8th.
Times Square, New York, October 8th, 10am EST.
HINT: Head to Toys R Us at 8am EST!
One could also think that this is simply another episode for Angry Birds Space, but we don’t really believe that since they never do public events just for releasing a new chapter in an already released game.
Also, the fact that Rovio is getting into the ebook apps market has nothing to with this either.
If you are a true Angry Birds fan, you sure must have seen those Angry Birds Star Wards customed characters in images all around the web (we posted them below), all those speculations were true afterall.
This whole idea of mixing the flock with the Star Wars franchise is simply perfect to keep fans hooked.
